Khepri is launching a groundbreaking campaign in order to fund multiple cricket farms in Lao PDR in partnership with an NGO

Ana C. Day‘s insight:

"What is Entomoculture and why should I care?

Entomoculture is a neologism that means “the cultivation of insects”. It is quite a novel field, as only two insect species are currently considered domesticated: bees (Apis Mellifera) and silkworms (Bombyx Mori).

Interest rose a while ago, as the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) published a study regarding the nutritive value of the cricket (Acheta Domestica) and subsequently launched an initiative in Laos to further investigate breeding techniques of various insects in emerging countries conditions.

You can find a nice infographic below that summarizes the benefits of crickets compared to beef."
